Beverly Hills Celebrates Chinese New Year Ringing in the Year of Rooster

Beverly Hills—Beverly Hills Conference & Visitors Bureau (BHCVB) will host its sixth annual Chinese New Year celebration on January 21, announced Julie Wagner, Chief Executive Officer of BHCVB in a media briefing today.

The celebration featuring “Happy New Year & Charming Beijing, consists of an extravaganza of arts performance, graphic display of Beijing cultural heritage, and handcraft demonstration.

“For the 3rd year in a row we are partnering with China International Culture Association and Beijing Association Cultural Exchanges to bring a special performance all the way from Beijing,” said Wagner.  “This really gives us an opportunity to our city so that people in this community and Los Angeles can appreciate and understand all the wonderful things that China has to offer.”

The celebration, which is expected to draw an audience of 1600 people, will be held at the Saban Theatre, a historical landmark on Wilshire Boulevard in the city of Beverly Hills.

“Chinese New Year celebration has become a signature event in Beverly Hills, which not only enriches the cultural lives of local Chinese community, but provide a great opportunity for the American mainstream to better understand Chinese lunar New Year culture,” said Wang Jin, Cultural Consul of the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles.
