FBI Special Agent Recruitment Event

Los Angeles, CA – On Wednesday, March 13, FBI Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Los Angeles Field Office, Matthew Moon, met with members of the Asian American Pacific Islander media for a joint community relations and media round-table to build and strengthen relationships with the local AAPI community.

SAC Moon briefly discussed the FBI’s priorities, LA’s applicant recruitment initiatives and announced a large-scale Special Agent recruitment event on May 7, 2019 in Long Beach, California – encouraging all eligible AAPI community members interested in a career with the FBI to attend the event.

Special Agents enforce over 300 federal statutes and conduct criminal and national security investigations.

To be successful, the FBI needs Special Agents who possess a broad range of education, experiences and skills. Our Special Agents come from a wide range of unexpected career backgrounds beyond law enforcement, including education, science, business and technology.

For example, you may be asked to utilize foreign language skills to interview a victim of human trafficking, computer skills to decipher malicious code, accounting skills to uncover hidden assets or communication and collaboration skills to lead a joint agency investigation.
